The rain fell,
Refreshing the thirsty ground.
It came once a century,
So longed for,
And yet almost forgotten.
We were lucky to see it
Once in a lifetime.
And then it was gone.
As fast as it came, the clouds rolled away
And the drops dried up.
Leaving only the cracks,
The dryness,
And the hope for a different tomorrow.
