Character Profile

Write a profile for an invented character.  This can be a paragraph, writing about what makes them tick, their back-story (perhaps they have a terrible secret or traumatic past), any unique individual traits, their job, what they love, what they hate, their strengths, and their weaknesses.  Or you could write a list, including:

• Physical description

• Personality traits

• Mannerisms and quirks

• Goals

• Conflicts

• Relationships

Name: Tyler Whittaker

Physical Description: Blond hair, blue eyes

Personality traits: Sweet, caring, a perfectionist who is always working, gets stressed easily when it’s stuff he doesn’t like but otherwise laid back, likes to joke around but  much more serious when he’s stressed, snaps at people when stressed

Mannerisms and Quirks:  Runs fingers through his hair when nervous, clicks his tongue,

Goals: Wanted to be an English professor, has to give this up when his Dad dies

Conflict: His mom died, Dad remarried then his step-mom leaves and his Dad dies, leaving him to manage the family farm and raise his younger siblings.

Relationships: Married to Katie (Muller) Whittaker, whose father arranged their marriage.  Tyler has known Katie her entire life and loves her.  She has feelings for him, but doesn’t return the strong love he has at first.

Peter Whittaker: Tyler’s younger brother who is married with a family and farm of his own.

Jesse Whittaker: Tyler’s youngest full biological brother whom he has custody of.  Jesse is rebellious, and this frustrates Tyler at times.

Amelia, Daniel, Jacob, Grace and Matthew: Tyler’s five younger half-siblings.  Tyler has custody of them and is raising them with the help of his wife Katie.
